cake mix cakeWe all enjoy a delicious cake every once in a while. Whether it’s just an after dinner dessert or a special occasion, a fresh home baked cake is always a welcome treat.

When there isn’t enough time to bake a cake from scratch, I turn to boxed cake mix. However, I find that some mixes are much lighter and fall apart easily.

Following these tips will produce a richer and more decadent cake. No one will ever guess it came from a box!

The cake will taste like it came from a bakery even though you took a shortcut.

Simply, read the instructions on the box and then add one or two additional eggs depending on how rich you prefer your cake to be.

Next, replace the oil with twice the amount of melted butter.

Use milk instead of water.

Mix and bake the cake as per the instructions on the box.

There you have it! Nice and simple. No one ever has to know 🙂
