I love iced tea and when I don’t have any lemons or limes around, I opt for simple sweet iced tea. Instead of green tea, I steep some orange pekoe tea for about 1o minutes and then add sugar. The amount of sugar, as well as the number of tea bags and steep time varies depending on personal preference.  I really have a sweet tooth so I normally add a lot of sugar. However, when I am making sweet tea for others, I hold back a little.

This is how I make simple sweet tea for my guests:

Bring 7 cups of water to a boil in a pot and remove from heat.

Add 3 orange pekoe tea bags and let steep for 10 minutes.

Remove Tea Bags.

Add 1 1/2 cups of white granulated sugar and stir until dissolved.

Allow to cool and use a ladle to scoop tea into cups filled with ice.

Serve right away.

Enjoy!
