I love baking and decorating cookies, but sometimes don’t have a lot of time to spend on the decorating part.  That is why I often times keep the design of the cookie simple so I can still make a fun batch of cookies during a busy week! I realize that I could have added some nice black or golden swirls or perhaps flowers to the dress and purse, but as mentioned, I had to keep it simple.
I used my favorite sugar cookie recipe and my go to royal icing recipe to make these posh cookies! Once the baked cookies were cooled off, I covered the cookies in black royal icing. (except for the area under the purse handle)
I let the icing dry overnight before adding a thick icing stripe to the waist part of the dress cookie and the area on the purse. You can see in the picture, that the shinier area is the newly added icing.
I poured gold sugar sprinkles over the wet icing stripe and tapped off the excess sugar. Once again, I let the icing (under the sugar) dry off and the cookies were ready!
They are great for serving at a party, given as a gift or packaged as party favors!
Linking up to some of these fun parties!
