I usually have no idea what to write in a baby shower card, but I sure like to make them when I have a moment. Sometimes I procrastinate and wait until the last minute to make a card or wait until I have the gift to make the card to co-ordinate. In that case, I end up making a really simple card that requires only a piece of paper and perhaps a sticker or stamp.

In a previous post, I showed how to make a really simple homemade card. You can find it here: Homemade Card Ideas

In this post, the idea is quite similar. However, you will need a 12×12 piece of heavy and high quality cardstock instead of an 8×8 piece. Also, instead of only 1 card, you will end up with 2 cards and 3 mini gift tags/cards!

Let’s get started!

Start off with a really cute piece of heavy, high quality 12×12 cardstock, then cut a 2 inch strip off of the right side of the paper.

Next, cut the larger piece of card stock horizontally across the center. Fold the 2 larger cut pieces of cardstock in half. (from left to right)

Cut the strip of paper horizontally into 3 pieces. (they will measure 4″ each, top to bottom)

Fold them each in half. (top to bottom)

Now you have 2 adorable cards and 3 mini gift tags or cards!

If you notice, in the first picture, there was a card with a sticker on it. The 12 x 12 paper pad I used had some more simple patterned paper so I added a 3D sticker to some of the cards. I got the above stickers from the dollar store. What a find! The cards with the simple pattern and flower pot stickers can easily be used as Mother’s Day Cards, birthday cards or many other occasions.
